Precautions for loading containers:
- When packing goods, the weight of the goods in the box must not exceed the maximum loading capacity of the container under any circumstances. The maximum loading weight of the container is calculated by subtracting the self-weight of the container from the total weight of the container; the total weight and self-weight are generally both Marked on the door of the container.
- The unit weight of each container is fixed, so if a container is loaded with a kind of cargo, as long as the density of the cargo is known, it can be determined whether it is heavy cargo or light cargo. If the cargo density is greater than the unit test weight of the box, it is heavy cargo, and the loaded goods are calculated by weight. On the contrary, if the cargo density is smaller than the unit test weight of the box, it is light cargo, and the loaded goods are calculated by volume.
- When loading, the load on the bottom of the box must be balanced. The load in the box must not be skewed to one end or one side. In particular, it is strictly prohibited to have the center of gravity of the load skew to one end.
- To avoid concentrated loads, such as when loading heavy goods such as machinery and equipment, the bottom of the box should be covered with padding materials such as wooden boards to disperse the load as much as possible. The average safe load per unit area of the bottom of a standard container is roughly as follows: 1330x9.8N/m2 for a 20-foot container and 980x9.8N/m2 for a 40-foot container.
- When loading goods manually, pay attention to whether there are loading and unloading instructions such as "Do not invert", "Put flat", "Put vertically" on the packaging. Loading tools must be used correctly, and hand hooks are prohibited for packaged goods. The goods contained in the box must be loaded neatly and tightly packed. For goods that are prone to loose bundling and fragile packaging, use padding or insert plywood between the goods to prevent the goods from moving within the box.
- When loading pallet cargo, it is necessary to accurately grasp the internal dimensions of the container and the external dimensions of the cargo packaging in order to calculate the number of pieces to be loaded, so as to minimize abandonment and overloading of cargo.
- When loading boxes with a forklift, it will be limited by the free lifting height of the machine and the height of the mast. If conditions permit, a forklift can load two layers at a time, but there should be a certain gap between the top and bottom. If conditions do not allow loading two layers at a time, when loading the second layer, taking into account the free lifting height of the forklift truck and the possible lifting height of the forklift truck mast, the mast lifting height should be The height of one layer of goods minus the free lifting height, so that the second layer of goods can be loaded on top of the third layer of goods. In addition, there should be pads under the goods so that the forks can be pulled out smoothly.
